Two Buckets Task

I was inspired to pose the 2 buckets employment to my physical scientific discipline students based on this inspiring #Teach180 tweet:

My students institute this employment to endure a lot to a greater extent than confusing than I expected.  Most groups read the employment as well as wanted to declare it impossible without fifty-fifty attempting it.  Several groups suggested that they purpose a 1 gallon jug to take a gallon from the v gallon jug.  This, according to them, would piece of work out 4 gallons inwards the jug.  I had to remind them that they entirely direct maintain access to a iii gallon bucket as well as a v gallon bucket.
