Student Created Gradient Pages

This year, I was feeling a trivial uninspired when it came to creating notebook pages over finding gradient inwards Algebra 1.  We'd done lots of practice.  And, close students seemed to grasp the concept.  Since my students had watched me brand notebook pages for an entire semester, I decided it was their turn.  I separate each aeroplane upward into 3 groups as well as assigned them each a unlike means of finding gradient - from a graph, from a table, as well as from 2 points.  I told each grouping to create upward one's hear what their classmates needed to mucilage into their notebooks, as well as I would arrive for them.  I gave them 1 50-minute aeroplane menstruum to pattern their notebook pages, as well as all 3 groups presented their pages during the adjacent 50-minute aeroplane period.

Part of me hated this because I'm real controlling over what students pose inwards their notebooks.  What if they create it wrong?  What if it's non clear?  But, at the same time, this would laissez passer on me a grasp of what my students understood.  This was an eye-opening experience inwards that it actually made me consider the vocabulary I purpose as well as bring during class.  Some of the descriptions inwards the notes were non equally precise equally I would lead keep liked them, but students were exactly repeating things they had heard others say.  I didn't right the students, then it's my fault.  I postulate to attend to precision myself.
