Octm Recap: Fun Functions

The Bug Problem

Function Machines

As nosotros played the game, I realized it genuinely was a soundless board game.  The facilitator would concord upward her dry out erase marking until someone raised their hand.  Then, she would mitt them the dry out erase marker.  They would walk to the board as well as fill upward inwards an output value.  If the output value was correct, in that location would live silence.  IF the output value was incorrect, in that location would yet live silence.  But, the instructor would walk to the board as well as erase the wrong value.  

This continued until the board was filled.  Then, nosotros moved on as well as silently filled inwards the dominion for the business office as well as the functions' increase rate.


I'm honestly non certain how this activity would play out inwards my classroom.  Would my students remain soundless as well as engaged the entire time???  

One player inwards the session suggested a tweak to this activity: conduct maintain a graph where students plot each indicate later adding it to the table.  This could assistance students meet if the business office was linear, exponential, etc.  

Function Walk
